Living with Open Hands

There is a give and take to life, a dance seemingly impossible to perfect. But I’ve learned that perfection is not what is required. All that is desired is step-by-step obedience in the form of open hands. These are the kinds of hands that stay open in order to allow the work of the Holy Spirit to guide them. They’re the hands that lovingly receive and then thoughtfully give.

The Faithfulness of Ruth

Lately, I’ve been in a constant spiritual fight for so many people around me. It’s been either one battle after the next or everything at once. My friend told me that it’s like I’m saving the world, and it definitely feels like that sometimes.

A couple of weeks ago, I’d kind of gotten to this place of blind obedience where I continued to put one foot in front of the other without looking at anything except the ground. I was honestly trudging to get through. The people that I’m fighting for mean so much to me, and I know that they’re worth the fight, but I was losing sight in all of this.
